I like to see the aesthetic progression of these things, but, you know, I also like to see movies in the cinema.

There's a new one out this week, and my understanding is if I've seen the 1978 one (I have) and this one, I'm caught up, because these things get very silly with the alternative continuities, #299, or #558, 2018's "Halloween."

queer character on TV: "I just don't like to be labelled, you know."

me, covered in labelmaker labels: "that's why you gotta do it yourself."

πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ "Anne+" (2021)

anyway, enjoyed the movie

some of the criticism I had about the show got deftly addressed by aiming it at Anne's novel, and the movie answers that criticism about as well as it can within the setup it has

it was fun and funny and pleasant -- except when it wasn't -- and it was joyful

oh, had my first pumpkin spice latte the other day

perfectly decent cup of autumn-flavoured overpriced beanjuice

i am however left even less clear why it's so popular or so commonly made fun of

hollywood will never do the right thing and cast Michael Sheen as Willy Wonka
