#108, or #758, 1987's "Ishtar," another one about people getting Tropic Thunder'd, apparently known as one of the worst movies ever made, because @thiskurt brought it up.
#125, or #775, 2021 depression-in-a-house horror picture "The Night House," solely because of this one shot, god-damn.

#130, or #780, at @kurt's absolutely whole-hearted and unequivocal recommendation, 1967 Canadian experimental room film "Wavelength."
#144, or #794, 2020's "Spontaneous," which I think is a teen romcom set in a world where people can and do just spontaneously explode?
I'm sure this won't be extremely relatable to me, who has lived through more than two years of a global pandemic.
I was gonna go see 2022's "Downton Abbey: A New Era" with my mom tomorrow, so the plan for today was to watch 2019's "Downton Abbey" -- having got through three seasons of the show -- but then my parents' car had a nervous breakdown, so that's been postponed.
Instead, one of those Letterboxd never shuts the fuck up about, #148, or #798, 1994 Chinese picture "Chunking Express."
@Alexis legit can't tell if this is a joke, or
why would that be the concept for a movie
@The_T Oh, no, a girl explodes in, like, the first shot of this, not a joke at all.
It's not even a pandemic thing, they filmed it in 2018 based on a 2016 novel.
I assume it's meant to be a metaphor for how high school feels.
@Alexis christ. is it gorey? is it played for laughs? what a bizarre thing to even imagine.
💥🩸 "Spontaneous" (2020), description of the exploding
@The_T The leads have both not been looking at the exploding person at the moment they exploded, allowing the movie to not actually show you that much.
The first one is a slow pan across a row of high schoolers in a classroom, and when we reach the lead actress, the girl in front of her, now off-screen, explodes, or, rather, fake blood is splattered across the room from her position. She leaves behind her unscathed clothes and a red puddle.
re: 💥🩸 "Spontaneous" (2020), description of the exploding
@Alexis alright, whose fetish is this
fess up, writer
re: 💥🩸 "Spontaneous" (2020), description of the exploding
@Alexis (I am not asking for you to tell me)
re: 💥🩸 "Spontaneous" (2020)
@The_T If there's somebody out there whose fetish this is, I distinctly and specifically hope they do not find happiness.
💥🩸 "Spontaneous" (2020)
@The_T It's also probably meant to be about, uhh, high school shootings, and how life just sort of carries on.
🐟 "Noises Off" (1992)
I laughed so hard at that my then roommate came flying downstairs to yell at me because she had to work the next morning.
@Alexis@beepboop.one aaaa it's so fun!
"What happened?!"
"Katelyn exploded."
as you do
