@Alexis Does it hurt? They're probably opening them up to people my age next week

@ak * The initial jab is a teeny-tiny pin prick, bordering right on the edge of noticeable.
* In the first hour or so the spot itself felt a little like I had a bruise there a few days to a week ago, or like I'd just lightly bumped into something.
* Right now my arm and shoulder are a bit sore, feeling like they might if I'd done some clumsy heavy lifting earlier in the day.

Very much at the very low end of what I was expecting.

@Alexis I had a nightmare where it really hurt! I'm not sure why, but most people I've talked to have said it didn't hurt, I will use my usual "person coming at me with a needle" policy and shut my eyes and tell them to tell me when to open them again 😨

I'm worried because it's peak university assessment season and I've got loads of work to be doing, and don't want to be in bed for two days like some people I know were

@ak I closed my eyes, too -- it's way easier to physically relax, as I was instructed to do, if I don't see that there's a metal thing in my arm. >_>

For what it's worth, the second is meant to generally be worse than the first -- if you don't have hard deadlines for the days right after, I'd take the risk for the first shot, and then schedule the second a little more deliberately.

@Alexis The gap here is three months, which puts it in August, right in holiday season so shouldn't be a problem

The university are quite flexible with assignment deadlines and lateness due to Covid, I suspect if I had side effects and said "it's vaccine side effects, here is my proof of vaccination" they would be lenient and shift my deadline back by a few days
