Have put the 2018 motion picture "Bumblebee" on, because people keep telling me it's actually pretty good.
When this movie cuts to Earth, 1987, the second thing you see, after an establishing shot of a forest, is a gun. Which just about sums it up, dunnit.
boy this sure is a film that wears its influences on its sleeves
show the last bit of Breakfast Club a third time, I dare you
like, we get it, the Back to the Future tunnel for a car chase, very clever, uh-huh
oh my god he drives down the Golden Gate Bridge to "Don't You Forget About Me" after turning into a Nicer Car, which I guess is the robot car equivalent of a sports field airpunch???
aesthetically absolutely shameless
wish this made a little bit more of an effort to *be* an 80s film instead of just being a modern blockbuster wearing an 80s aesthetic, but, like, fun enough
@Alexis Forrest Gun is what the aliens call us.
@Alexis Bumblebee stomping across handegg field, punching the air to "Don't You Forget About Me"
@Jo Genuinely, that might be how this movie ends.
@Jo And it IS /basically/ how this movie ends!
